Citizens told to replace civil status card

The Ministry of Interior’s agency for civil status has urged Saudis who are holders of the old civil status card with a validity up to 2017 (1438H) to contact their nearest civil status department to renew it and replace with the national ID card.
Muhammad Al-Jasser, spokesman of the agency, said citizens can obtain details of procedures for the renewal of the card by visiting the agency’s website (www.ahwal.gov.sa) or contacting the nearby civil status offices after making an appointment.
Al-Jasser called on citizens to strictly adhere to the directives with regard to the replacement of the old civil status ID, which does not have a barcode in the back, to avoid any procedural complications.
