Al Inma Bank scores second straight Interbank double

Handicap-rich Al Inma Bank Aspire won Team of the Week honors in consecutive weeks during the mid-positioning round in the Interbank Tenpin Bowlers of Riyadh (ITBR) league at the InterContinental Hotel Bowling Center here.
The five-man team of Al Inma Bank Aspire crushed SHB 406-160 in another fine display, with rookie Willie Bondoc taking the Bowler of the Week award to complete an Aspire double for the second straight time.
Bondoc shot the high series of 825. Aspire displaced consistent SABB-SAMA from the fourth spot in the team standings and closed the gap on third placer SHB. The quartet of Ranier Torres, Jerry Barce, Obet Mata and Gelo Train supported Bondoc with rounds of 778, 736, 742 and 706.
Leading SHB was Clem Salazar with 682, followed by Jil Hembra (606), Arnel Bernabe (568), Rodel Yap (543), Cholo Nieto (357), Val Baraquio (351), captain Greg Antonio (346) and Gerry Ayonon (155).
Saudi Investment Bank was the second top scorer routing BSF-CBG 360-30. The SAIB trio of captain Dong Calub, Ed Robillos and Agie Dazo tallied 824, 731 and 731 respectively. Boy Rogel and Edwin Fontiveros added 568 and 479 while Ariel Diaz and Siraj Zakaria had 161 and 159. Calub also set the second elite bowler record of 267 during the third game when he connected eight strikes in a row.
The leading scorer at BSF-CBG was Art Bumatay with 816. He was supported by captain Ken Hechanova, Alfred Estrada, Guilbert Masias and Abet Minoza who rolled 526, 505, 500 and 438 while Rey Abuloc, Dennis Buot, Andy Illanza and Ricky Dominguez had 161, 153, 149 and 128.
In other exciting matches, SABB-SAMA whipped former champion BSF 310-30 while league leader PNB Unified defeated second-placer SABB Advance (210-80).
Jun Macarandan, captain Teody Zulaybar and Clem Guelas carded 741, 734 and 711 to demolish their opponent. Freddie Solomon and Bernie Torres provided the much-needed support with 544 and 538 while Jun Bolocboloc had 349.
BSF managed to earn 30-bonus points during the second game. Top scorers were Noel Morales, Edwin Timango and captain Jun Bantug who rolled 724, 692 and 681. Guest player Francis Guron tallied 518 in three games, Joseph Adao had 338 while Danny Encinas and Jerry Villanueva rolled 201 and 166.
After two weeks when SHB and SABB Advance took over one after the other, PNB Unified reclaimed the top spot beating SABB Advance in three games. Unified’s Sonny Alviso, Carlo Gaspar, Ronald Cruz and James Frizzle fired four-game series of 732, 715, 708 and 671. Tenz Taeza and Roland Garcia gave much needed support with 367 and 333.
Jaffer Al-Kathiri led SABB Advance with 730 followed by Jerry Austria, Sam Alinsod, and Arnold Jesena on 697, 680 and 628. AJ Bonifacio and Ahmed Qarqoush had 369 and 349.
Vic Agregado, captain Bobby Ting and Soc Mejia led Al Inma Tefa’al with 778, 742 and 722 to book 280 points as the bye team in action. Koko Torres and Wini Sabrido had 672 and 658.
