A high-ranking Saudi delegation of 60 businessmen, headed by Fahad Al-Hammadi, chairman of the National Construction Committee visited BAU 2013, the world’s leading trade fair for construction materials, architecture and systems, that took place in Munich.
The German-Saudi Arabian Liaison Office for Economic Affairs (AHK Saudi Arabia) organized the visit.
The trade fair was held from Jan. 14 to 19.
The delegation met with the State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development, Rainer Bomba.
The Federation of the German Construction Industry, headed by Vice President Klaus Pöllath, signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Committee for Contractors at the Council of Saudi Chambers
(NCC).
The purpose of this MoU is to foster closer relations between the two organizations as well as to establish measures to facilitate future cooperation in the fields of engineering and construction.
The delegation also visited selected German exhibitors which are interested to cooperate with Saudi Arabian companies.
They interacted with German exhibitors & decision-makers and forged new trade links.
The trade fair attracted around 2,000 exhibitors from more than 40 countries and around 240,000 global visitors.
Every two years this event brings together market leaders from the sector to take part in a unique international display of competence from all construction areas.
BAU is also the world´s largest trade fair for architects and construction engineers, attracting around 50,000 design professionals.
Key topics for the future of the industry, such as sustainability and green building play an important role in all sections of the exhibition.
The attractive events included high-caliber forums in which experts from all over the world took part.
