Top businessman cancels deals with 20 Russian firms

A Saudi businessman has suspended his present and future business deals with 20 Russian companies protesting the country’s support for the oppressive Bashar Assad regime, Al Arabiya news channel reported yesterday.
Mubarak Al-Suwaiket, chairman of Al-Suwaiket Group, said he took the decision with good intention, bearing the loss of canceling such business contracts.
The cancelation involves millions of riyals worth of oil and gas and pipe manufacturing contracts.
“Being a Saudi national, I am proud of taking this decision, honoring the blood of my Syrian brethren,” he said.
