DAMMAM: Majd International School Philippine Curriculum in Dammam held a basketball clinic for the first time for more than 50 kids ranging in age 6-13 at the school’s basketball court here on Friday.
The basketball workshop was designed for character-forming lessons, so children not only learn to play basketball sports to build them as champions but to improve their champion values – discipline, teamwork, determination, respect and confidence to help them become winners on and off the court.
The opening highlight was the distribution of personal basketball balls and uniforms to all participating students. Lita Rulloda, the school’s principal, graced the clinic opening.
Four coaches, led by former PBL Agfa player, Ramon Hernandez, and including former PBL’s Toyota Otis and Letran Knights forward Andro Gil Quinday, with the brother’s duo of former Aquinas University of Legazpi varsity players Mark and Rey Millena will handle the 20 sessions basketball workshop.
The coaches will teach the kids basic basketball moves with passing, dribbling and shooting techniques, as well as fundamentals of basketball offense and defense.
“More than developing the skills of the boys, we hope that these young children learn the importance of discipline, hard work and other values in sports which they may apply when they grow up,” coach Hernandez said.
Enrolled in the workshop were, Julian Rafael Santos, Ruz Ivan Muriel, Rayjed Dorotha Sayud, Neo Medrano, Myron Yenzel Almanzor, Emanuel David Batang, Al Bashshar Bulon, Kairo Sta.
