RIYADH: Riyadh Pirates scored a hard-earned 16-run win over Rising Stars in a sixth round match of the Prince Sultan Twenty20 cricket tournament organized by the Riyadh Cricket League.
The Pirates owe their victory to Tahir who scored a match winning 97 runs in his team’s total of 226. He was supported by Yasin Moin’s 45. Omar bagged 2 wickets for the bowling side. In reply Detecon Rising Stars failed to reach the target as they managed 210 runs. Umer (24), Maqsood (41), Wali (59) and Ahmed (38) scores were not good enough for a win. Saadt took 3 wickets.
Tahir was Man-of-the-Match.
In another close encounter, South Indian Stunners eked past Pak Cricket Club by 1 wicket. Pak put up a total of 174 runs after they batted first. Waseem Khan was in good nick and top-scored with 81 runs. Jamal got 30. Farukh and Shoaib claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply South Indian Stunners reached their target off the last ball of the match. Waseem and Lateef scored 31 runs each and Younus got 24. Malik bagged 3 wickets and Jamal got 2.
Man-of-the-Match: Waseem.
The highlight of the day was Dirab Golf Yousuf Haroon’s splendid 157, which helped his team rout Sagar by 64 runs.
