JEDDAH: Mouzam and Mumrez Khan gave outstanding performances which helped Ace Travels score a stunning 20-run win over champions ARM in the fourth week of the MoneyGram Twenty20 Premier Division Cricket League organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association.
The highlights of the day was, Amer Wahla of Pak Green who scored an unbeaten knock of 130 against Arcoma Crown and Ace Travel’s Mumrez Khan, who had match winning figures of 4 for 37 against ARM.
In other matches, Pak Green beat Arcoma Crown by 7 wickets, Mazco got the better of Natco by 30 runs and Caravan Travels beat Desert Warriors by 5 wickets.
Other notable performers were Arsalan (67), Akram (79), Kaleem (88), Mouzam (88), Muzammil (54), Shahzad Ahmed (71 not out) and Sami Khan (62).
In the third week division I matches, Ittehad scored a thrilling one-wicket win over ECU Lines, Reel & Rom eased past Blossoms by 7 wickets, Eirad Travels routed Pak Young by 9 wickets and Al-Khulais-XI got the better of Jamoom Fighters by 32 runs.
In the second round matches of the Division-II Afternoon League, Saudi German Hospital got the better of Old Students by 19 runs, Jeddah Shaheen routed ICAD by 168 runs and Old Horses Shalimar outclassed Peeran-XI by 8 wickets.
The highlights of this week matches were Hussain and Irshad of Jeddah Shaheen who scored 114 and took 4 for 35 respectively against ICAD. Fine all round performance by Hasnain of SGH 82 runs and 3 for 29 against Old Students while Mubashir scored 50 and took 2 for 7 against Peeran-XI.
In the premier division, Ace Travels batted first and piled up 274 for 3 in their allotted overs.
Abdul Wahid hammered 54 runs off just 16 balls while his partner Mouzam scored a quick-fire 84 runs off 35 balls. Later, Shahzad Ahmed (71 not out) and Maqsood (52) propped up the innings to put their team in a strong position.
In reply the ARM’s fight back was not good enough as they managed 254 for 9. Sami Khan (62), Najam (33) and Thabrez (31) were the main run getters. Thirty-one runs came in the form of extras.
Mumrez Khan 4 for 37, Khalid 2 for 32 and Rashid 2 for 45 did most of the damage.
