JEDDAH: A center for disabled children personally funded by Crown Prince Sultan, deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation, will be opened here on Saturday, the local Arabic daily Al-Watan reported.
The director of the General Administration for Medical Services to the Armed Forces, Maj. Gen. Kitab Al-Otaibi, will open the center on behalf of Prince Sultan.
The center will provide special education to more than 3,000 disabled children. Al-Otaibi described the project as an "educational edifice” and said it would be handed over to the Ministry of Education.
“Built on an area of 3,200 square meters, the center will train disabled children skills related to speech and hearing. It will benefit all young children suffering from learning, sight, hearing and physical disabilities and autism,” he said.
