JEDDAH: Undersecretary of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance Tawfiq bin Abdul Aziz Al-Sudairy praised the Ministry of Interior's security sense which led to the foiling of a terrorist crime targeting worshippers in Al-Anoud Mosque in Dammam on Friday.
Al-Sudairy condemned this criminal attack which would have killed dozens of innocent people, saying that this shameful act is not from somebody follwing the tenets of Islam but it is a crime to destabilize the security and unity of the Kingdom and local social cohesion.
Head of Arab Parliament Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan condemned the criminal attempt to target the Dammam mosque. He said in a statement: “Terrorists seek to destabilize the Arab and Islamic nations’ security. Terrorism will never succeed in dividing the Saudi nation or destabilize national security."
Jarwan stressed that the land of the Two Holy Mosques will remain an oasis of security, peace and Islam under the wise leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.
Sheikh Al-Azhar Ahmed Al-Tayeb condemned the terrorist incident. Al-Tayeb asserted the need to respect the brotherhood of Islam and give priority to reason and wisdom, and not to be deceived by schemes seeking to ignite sectarian strife, praying to Allah Almighty to preserve the stability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and protect it from sedition and conflict.
He also stressed the sanctity of mosques and that extremists are trying to involve them in their repugnant conflicts.
