Many Yemenis living in the Kingdom have welcomed the decision by Saudi Arabia and other countries to launch attacks against the Houthis and restore the government of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi.
Munif Al-Radai, a resident, said: “Saudi Arabia’s support for Yemen will not be forgotten. Thanks to the Saudi leadership, here in the Kingdom we don’t feel alienated. It’s like we’re in our own country.”
Hussein Abdul Wahid, an employee at a private company here, said: “We thank the Kingdom and Arab coalition forces for standing by the Yemeni people, who have been exposed to various horrors at the hands of the Houthi militias.”
“I hope Yemen is liberated. The safety of Yemenis is very important for all Arabs,” he said.
A Yemeni artist, Walid Yassin, said the Kingdom has always stood by Yemen. “It is the kingdom of humanity,” he said.
Another resident said that Yemen needed these military operations to rid the country of Iran and the “traitors” supporting it, who have sought to destabilize the country and sow discord among its people.
Abdullah Ahmed said the start of Decisive Storm reassured Yemenis that they would one day be able to return home to a safe and secure country.
Mohammad Al-Droubi said: “The military action was taken after exhausting all attempts at peace and dialogue. All Yemeni people hope that the military action continues until the Houthi militias and their supporters are destroyed.”
Nabil Al-Hubaishi, a fabrics vendor, said the military process is proof that the Kingdom and coalition forces want a stable Yemen.
Salem Al-Nahdi thanked the countries involved in the operation against the rebels because it defends the legitimate government led by Hadi.
“I hope that peace prevails in the land of Yemen after the Houthis and their Iranian supporters are removed,” he said.
