Runaway maid works at govt hospital

Police have apprehended a housemaid who ran away from her sponsor in Hail three months ago and was working at a government hospital in Jeddah.
The case came to light when the housemaid’s sponsor living in Hail submitted a missing person’s report (Huroob) against her three months earlier and discovered by accident that she had found a job at a government hospital in Jeddah through a contract company. Munif Al-Rashidi, the sponsor of the absconding maid, said he was surprised when he found her working in the nutrition department of a hospital in Jeddah.
“I saw her photos taken at a hospital on a social networking website and informed the police in Hail that she had escaped. I also went to the hospital in Jeddah to make sure that she was working there and informed the security authorities in Jeddah to arrest her. But they refused on the grounds that she was on the hospital campus. Then I stopped her outside the hospital and finally had her arrested,” Al-Rashidi said.
The domestic help has since been referred to the Investigation and Prosecution Department.
