A photography exhibition featuring winning work from the international photography competition “Qur’anic verses and photography” will be unveiled on Wednesday at Damarat Hall by Aymen Saleh, dean of student affairs at King Abdulaziz University.
The international competition was organized in May by the Qur’an Channel with the cooperation of the KAAU Photo Club and attracted more than 400 photographers from around the world.
Abduallah Bahattab, director of Student Club Affairs, KAAU and technical supervisor of the contest, told Arab News the competition was a huge success and winning photos will be on display for the next 10 days. Bahattab said, “We are immensely grateful to the Qur’an channel for organizing the contest and exhibition.
It encouraged participants to understand the verses of the Qur’an to be able to match it with the right visual and gave participants an opportunity to show their talent.”
Bahattab who came up with the idea for the competition said the objective of the contest was to select three verses of Qur’an and express them through suitable photographs.
