All health jobs to be Saudized

JEDDAH: The Ministry of Labor and Social Development plans to nationalize all health jobs in the Kingdom in collaboration with its counterparts. Saudization will not be limited only to the pharmaceutical sector.
An official told Aleqtesadiah that the ministry had formed a joint committee with the Ministry of Health to develop a plan to begin Saudization. Implementation will begin after its official approval.
The official explained that the target job opportunities in Saudization of jobs in the pharmaceutical sector exceed 15,000 for both men and women. He did not mention a number for the health sector.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Development earlier announced its intention to Saudize the automobile sales sector in both agencies and car rental offices during the first half of 2017. That is expected to provide jobs for 9,000 citizens.
The ministry added that the automobile sector is a target for Saudization during the next stage after the telecommunications sector. It pointed out that the sectors currently being evaluated for Saudization include the gold and vegetable markets.
The ministry pointed out that Saudization in the automobile sector will be 100 percent, and it will focus initially on major agencies that employ a large number of foreigners.
In March this year, the ministry made a decision that forbids non-Saudis from selling and maintaining mobile phone devices and accessories. The ruling was made in collaboration with the ministries of Commerce and Industry, Municipal and Rural Affairs and Communications and Information Technology.
The government fixed a deadline for facilities and workers in this activity to carry out the order within six months from 1 Jumada II 1437 AH. There must be compliance for Saudization by at least 50 percent by Ramadan 1, 1437, and increasing to 100 percent by Dul Hijjah 1, 1437.
