Pakhtoon Khawa, Khalili Star lift Western Union Ersal Twenty20 Cup

RIYADH: Pakhtoon Khawa and Khalili Star emerged victorious in the finals of the Western Union Ersal Twenty20 Cricket Tournament, organized by the Riyadh Cricket League at the RCL Complex.
In the Super Division Pakhtoon Khawa got the better of Mehran by 5 wickets while Khalili Star scored a thrilling two-run win over Royal Fighters in the Premier Division.
In the Super Division, Mehran made first use of the track and put on board 202 runs. Ibrahim and Usman were the star batsmen as they scored 65 runs each respectively. Asif was the main wicket-taker for the bowling side with 3 for 27. Jameel 2 for 34, Naveed 2 for 30 and Iqbal 2 for 39 were the other bowlers who impressed.
In reply, Pakhtoon held their nerves and reached their target, scored 206 for 5 off 19.2 overs.
Naveed played a responsible innings and steered Pakhtoon to victory with his brilliant 95 runs. Arshad 33 and Farhan 21 were the others who contributed.
Matiullah was the most impressive of the Mehran bowlers as he took 3 for 37. Bashrath chipped in with 2 for 40.

In the Premier League, Khalili Star batted first and put up a decent 151 runs. Thanks to Shoaib’s match winning innings of 75. Ameem bagged 4 wickets and Shariq 2.
In reply Royal Fighters fell short and managed 149 runs. Qaiser top-scored with 50 runs supported by Ameen’s 41. Adil took 2 wickets.
Man-of-the-Match: Shoib Heera.
Mohammad Anwar (Marketing Manager Western Union Ersal) was the chief guest. Danial Alam and Nawab Khan also witnessed the finals.
Jawaid Munawar (CEO) thanked all RCL teams for their discipline good performances. He briefed the development plan of RCL before the start of the new season.
RCL Senior Adviser Razaur Rahman thanked the sponsor Western Union Ersal and their representative Mohammad Anwar for supporting RCL in promoting cricket in central region.
Forty teams participated in this tournament, divided into Super and Premier Division.
