Canadian smartphone maker BlackBerry launched Z3, its latest BB10 OS powered smartphone, in Riyadh.
The “cost conscious” Z3 smartphone with 5" touch display for new generation of customers in the Middle East is priced at SR799.
Mohammed Al-Mefleh, director, product management, BlackBerry Middle East, told Arab News: "We have been very successful in the Saudi market, and with Z3 smartphone we wish to consolidate our position among the budget or affordable device segment in high-growth emerging market of the Kingdom after our successful campaign in Indonesia as we have a significant customer base here."
BlackBerry launched the Z3 smartphone in Indonesia on May 13, he said, adding that they have been pleased with the huge success that encouraged them to roll out the smartphone to eight more countries, including countries in the Middle East.
Pointing out its features, he noted that the Z3 extends the BB10 platform to a new generation of customers in the region, offering them more ways to connect, share and be productive with an experience built on reliable communications.
"Z3 features a stylish design with a 5" touch display, an unrivalled messaging and typing experience, exceptional battery life, equipped with BB10 OS version and is Android app compatible,” he noted.
About the BB10 browser experience, he explained that it has set the industry benchmark for HTML5 performance on smartphone and is incredibly fast with fluid and responsive scrolling and zooming.
Key features of BB10 Z3 include the ever present BlackBerry Hub, giving access to all work and personal email, BBM text messages, social media updates and notifications in one place, with the ability to peek into the BlackBerry Hub from anywhere, only one swipe away from what matters to users.
