The relatives of an Indonesian maid murdered in the Kingdom have pardoned her Saudi killer.
A government order has been issued for the release of Mustafa Al-Asili, 50, after the Indonesian family of the maid accepted SR200,000 in blood money. Al-Asili has spent four years in jail.
Tarahum, the Committee for the Care of Prisoners, Ex-prisoners and their Families, had played an active role in getting the pardon from the relatives of the foreign woman.
Al-Asili thanked Jazan Gov. Prince Muhammed bin Nasser for his assistance.
Tarahum Chairman Ali Zaala said Al-Asili was noted for his exemplary conduct during his incarceration. He had participated in classes to learn the Holy Qur’an and cultural and social events organized in the prison.
