Woman births quadruplets at Asir hospital

A 45-year-old Egyptian woman gave birth to quadruplets at Abha’s Maternity Hospital on Friday. The three baby boys and the baby girl each weighed between 1.5 and 1.7 kg and are stable.
Saeed Al-Naqeer, Asir Health Affairs spokesman, said that the Caesarean section ended at 9 a.m. on Friday merely 30 minutes after the woman entered the operation theater.
This was the woman’s first cesarean operation, which was personally followed up on by Ali Al-Shamrani, the hospital’s director. The four babies will join a family of four other children.
The same hospital witnessed the birth of septuplets to a Saudi mother and quadruplets, born to a Syrian woman a few years ago, in addition to Yemeni conjoined twins this year.
