“Saudi Arabia is ready to provide humanitarian assistance and relief supplies to refugees and needy people in various parts of the world,” Prince Faisal said after talks with Imran Reda, UNHCR representative for the GCC.
During their meeting Prince Faisal and Reda reviewed current developments in the region, especially the flight of a large number of refugees from Syria in the face of growing violence in the country.
“We discussed prospects of cooperation and coordination between the Saudi Red Crescent and the UNHCR to make available humanitarian and relief assistance among the Syrian refugees in Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan,” Prince Faisal said.
Reda commended Saudi Arabia for supporting refugees and displaced people in various parts of the world. He also noted Prince Faisal’s efforts to alleviate the suffering of Syrian refugees.
