The section stocks a number of films and videos in addition to books on various stages in the history of the Kingdom.
Darah also showcases 6,000 books on the history, culture and religion of the Kingdom.
The folk heritage section focuses on the cultural achievements of the people in the Najd region. The exhibits include examples of special construction styles including window lattices specific to the Qassim province. It also reflects the economic, social and cultural life of the people in Najd.
Another section displays coins and currencies during the reigns of King Abdul Aziz, King Saud, King Faisal and King Khaled, as well as early Saudi postage stamps.
Other exhibits in the museum include copper utensils, coffee pots, kitchen wares, hunting weapons, measuring devices, animal hide products, tools for shoe making, agricultural tools and mills used in the region in the past centuries.
The visitor can also watch documentary films on cultural events in the province.
The Aramco section displays pictures and photos on various stages in the exploration and production of petrol including replicas of oil drilling machines.
The section of the Ministry of Petroleum and Minerals displays precious stones of the Kingdom apart from materials used in Saudi style constructions.
The general section showcases historical photos and stuffed desert animals and underwater organisms.
The museum established by the Buraidah municipality was opened in Feb 1999.
