RIYADH: The mayor of the Spanish city of Marbella took a tour of Al-Hukm Palace and its surrounding areas on Sunday, meeting with Riyadh Deputy Gov. Prince Muhammed bin Saad.

Anjileth Monioth was accompanied by a delegation as part of her visit to the Kingdom, the Arriyadh Development Authority said.
“Mayor Monioth and her delegation, who were on a visit to the Kingdom, also visited the carpet and gold markets near Al-Hukm Palace,” an ADA spokesman told Arab News on Monday.
Al-Hukm Palace is in the city center and where the office of the Riyadh governor is located.
The palace and its surrounding areas had been renovated by the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh (HCDA) as part of its mission to preserve and develop urban heritage.
The spokesman added the delegation also took a tour of Al-Masmak Palace, taking in its corridors, museum rooms, and old weapons and paintings.
“Al-Masmak was the starting point for the late King Abdulaziz to recapture the Kingdom's capital city,” the spokesman added.
He added the delegation also watched a film showing how the place was reoccupied and the veteran leaders who fought with King Abdulaziz when he recaptured the city.
The spokesman added that the mayor was deeply impressed with what she saw and wrote in the palace’s record book.
After taking a tour of the gold and silver market, the delegation visited an area where historic carpets were on display.
