Oman Air and Boeing said on Monday the carrier has ordered six Boeing 787-8s, though the planes won't translate into additional business for the Chicago-based plane maker.
That's because Oman Air is taking over orders previously placed by Kuwait-based aircraft leasing company ALAFCO. It wasn't clear why ALAFCO transferred the orders.
Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed. Each 787-8 costs $193.5 million at list prices.
Oman Air is the sultanate's flagship carrier. It's far smaller than Gulf behemoths such as Dubai's Emirates, which ordered 50 Boeing 777s at the Airshow on Sunday.
