"We also have plans to open a hospital in Riyadh and discussions are on, but we don't want to disclose the details now," Abdul Latheef, managing director of Badr Al Samaa Group, told Arab News on the sidelines of a press conference. Badr Al Samaa has been active in the private health care sector in Oman and other GCC countries including Saudi Arabia. The group operates a large network of hospitals and polyclinics in major parts of Oman and an overseas branch in Bahrain operating under the brandname Al Hilal Hospital. The ongoing project at Nizwa, Oman will be its 8th branch, which will be operational by February 2011. The Dubai branch will have cardiology and other specialties such as general medicine, general surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics, ophthalmology, dermatology, orthopedics, ENT, radiology, pathology and dental. A full-fledged laboratory, pharmacy, X-ray and an ultrasound unit will be attached with the facility. "We will expand our network to neighboring emirates too," the directors said at the press meet.
