While 2,525,000 boys studied in 15,054 schools with 212,144 male teachers, 2,437,436 girls were at 18,051 schools with 232,500 female teachers.
More than 1,207,000 boys were at 6,855 primary schools with 107,884 teachers. The number of middle schools for boys was put at 4,097 with a total of 640,000 students and 55,842 teachers.
The number of students in the Kingdom’s 6,855 primary schools for girls was put at 1,206,958. These students were taught by 54,299 teachers. The number of middle school girls was 553,942. They were taught at 3,729 middle schools by 54,299 teachers.
In the secondary school sector, 594,311 boys were enrolled at 2,425 schools with 43,745 teachers while over 483,000 girls were at 2,391 schools with 47,861 teachers.
There were also some 1,000 Qur’an memorization schools for boys functioning during the year with 123,000 students and 11,705 teachers. There were also some 1,077 Qur’an memorization schools for 136,000 girls with 1,326 female teachers.
More than 760 night schools for adults where 14,741 people had enrolled for studies were also functioning during the same period. A further 3,270 schools were also running classes for 81,516 adults.
Some 1,000 schools for 17,356 disabled boys were also running during the same period. These children were taught by 4,725 teachers. Another 414 schools were also running where 8,729 disabled girls were being taught by 2,206 teachers.
