Police sources told Arab News that the woman’s brother, an Arab who is under her sponsorship, was transporting the maids to different houses for work.
Police arrested the man while he was supplying two maids to a client in Alkhobar, the source said. The man told the police that he was working for his sister.
Police also arrested an Arab expatriate near Thuqba traffic office for allegedly forging driving licenses and selling them to foreigners. Police arrested the man after keeping a close watch on his activities.
Police raided his house in Thuqba and found the materials and equipment he used to forge driving licenses in addition to forged licenses and other documents. The man, who had come to the Kingdom on a driver’s visa, has been transferred to special security agents for further investigation.
Police arrested the expatriate during a campaign targeting illegal foreigners and violators of iqama and labor regulations, under the leadership of Capt. Turki Al-Jaaloud and supervision of Maj. Majed Al-Dowaish, assistant commander of passport patrols.
“Our department will continue its campaign to track down illegal residents,” said Al-Dowaish.
He warned those who provide shelter to illegal residents of stiff punishment.
A fine of SR5,000 will be imposed on those who employ an undocumented foreigner. Sponsors of runaway maids will also be fined a similar amount if they fail to report the case.
