JEDDAH: Police arrested yesterday a cashier of a Saudi company a few hours after its owner accused him of stealing SR1.6 million from an office safe.
Col. Misfar Al-Juaid, spokesman for Jeddah police, said the owner reported that the cashier, an Egyptian in his 50s, disappeared shortly after the money went missing. He said the case is being investigated.
Al-Juaid warned company owners against leaving large amounts of cash inside their offices or in the hands of their staff.
