Economy briefs: Etisalat buys 45% of Swan Telecom

ABU DHABI: Etisalat has signed an agreement to acquire approximately 45 percent of Swan Telecom Private Ltd., a recently licensed mobile operator in India, by subscribing to newly issued shares for a cash consideration of up to $900 million, implying a post-money equity value for 100 percent of the company.
