AL-KHARJ, 16 June 2007 — Crown Prince Sultan launched a number of projects including a hospital, a supply warehouse and a road at the Prince Sultan Airbase in Al-Kharj yesterday.
The crown prince also laid the foundation stone for a new runway, and initiated the reconstruction of existing runways and the renovation of a fuel supply network.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Riyadh Gov. Prince Salman, Chief of Staff Gen. Saleh Al-Muhaya and Gen. Abdul Rahman ibn Fahd Al-Faisal, commander of the air force.
In his welcome speech, Maj. Gen. Ali Al-Daghaither, commander of the airbase, commended the Saudi leadership for its efforts to strengthen the Kingdom’s armed forces, providing them with advanced weaponry and intensive training.
