DAMMAM, 18 February 2007 — A research team from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals recently won an international award for inventing a more environment-friendly oil exploration method.
The study was carried out in collaboration with Saudi Aramco researchers.
The award, instituted by major petroleum companies, was received by Abdullah Saif, senior vice president for excavation and production, in London.
The research team included Ezzat Hijazi, associate professor of physics and director of the project at KFPUM, Hussein Masudi, associate professor of chemical engineering, Abdul Muttaleb Jaber, professor of chemistry, and Nabil Fayyad, expert at the research and development center and project director for Aramco.
