JEDDAH, 7 October 2006 — Ramadan is a golden time for new Muslims to learn more about their faith and meet other people that share the same experience. The ladies section of the International Association for New Muslims is holding a public iftar (Ramadan breakfast) for women at Al-Faisal Hall in Jeddah tomorrow.
“This meeting will be an opportunity for new Muslims and even non-Muslims to meet and know more about each other and about Islam,” said Lutfia Qurban, executive manager of the association’s ladies section.
After breakfast, the attendees will pray the Isha and taraweeh prayers in congregation. This will be followed by a lecture entitled “Ramadan Credit”.
The speaker, Lamia Shaheen, will make the presentation in English so that it can be understandable for the majority of listeners. The lecture will include an open discussion on Ramadan and fasting.
The invitation is open for everyone who has the passion to know more about Islam and Ramadan. “We sent flyers to foreign and non-foreign, Muslim and non-Muslim women,” said Qurban.
