Qur’an Society to Honor Outstanding Students

JEDDAH, 10 October 2005 — As many as 30 outstanding students of Qur’an memorization society in Makkah will be honored at an auspicious ceremony in the holy city tomorrow. Abdullah Obaid, chairman of the society, said the students to be honored include those who have memorized the whole Qur’an. A number of the society’s staff will also be honored in appreciation of their longstanding service, Obaid said, adding that some of them have worked for the organization for 25 years. He commended the government for its continuous support to the society. Makkah Governor Prince Abdul Majeed is the society’s honorary chairman.
