Mother Saves Marriage After Father Took Money

JEDDAH, 4 September 2005 — A greedy father put his daughter’s wedding in jeopardy after he stole her dowry money and disappeared Al-Watan newspaper reported. The greedy father demanded the groom pay SR90,000 and promised to use the money to hold a spectacular wedding. Instead he stole the money and traveled abroad with it. The groom’s family, on learning of the father’s action, threatened to break off the marriage if the money is not returned. The bride’s mother, on hearing what the father did, saved the day. She flew to Jeddah from Tabuk and gave SR90,000 from her money to make sure the wedding went ahead.
