Khaled Al-Baltan Named Shabab Club President

JEDDAH, 6 July 2005 — Prince Khaled ibn Sultan ibn Abdul Aziz, honorary member of Shabab club, announced in a press conference in Riyadh the other day Khaled Al-Baltan has been named new president of the club. His appointment takes effect at the start of the next season.

The prince said he personally asked Al-Baltan to be the president of the club because he believes he will succeed in leading the team to more trophies next season.

He said: “This businessman will lead the team to victories next season. The club will be in good hands under his management. He got my support and the support of all members of Shabab Club.”

Al-Baltan takes over from Talal Al-Alsheik whose resignation effective at the close of the season was accepted by Prince Khaled who thanked Al-Alsheik for leading the club to the final of the King Fahd Cup.

The prince said: “I thank him a lot for what he did to the club, but if it was not for his private business, he would have remained with the club. Because of his personal reasons, I had to accept his resignation.”
