RIYADH: Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha and President and CEO of Ericsson Borje Ekholm discussed expanding the company’s investments in the Kingdom and ways to strengthen collaboration across digital infrastructure, advanced 5G, cloud networks, artificial intelligence, automation, and emerging technologies.
According to a statement reported by Saudi Press Agency, the meeting also explored enhancing cooperation to develop network capabilities and digital capacity, building on existing partnerships.
Both sides highlighted Saudi Arabia’s appeal as a destination for high-quality investment in telecommunications, technology, and AI, citing a supportive growth environment, strong partnerships, and rapidly advancing national projects that are opening new avenues for innovation.
This momentum is reflected in Ericsson’s expanding footprint in the Kingdom, including its regional headquarters in Riyadh, collaborations with government entities and operators, and deployment of advanced solutions across key sectors.
Ekholm said: “As Ericsson marks 150 years of shaping global communications, our half-century partnership with Saudi Arabia stands as one of our most defining chapters.
