RIYADH: Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Elkhereiji was received by Senegal’s President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye on Monday at the Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security in Africa.
Elkhereiji conveyed greetings from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, along with their wishes for continued progress and prosperity for Senegal and its people, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Faye extended his greetings to King Salman and the crown prince, and expressed his wishes for further development and well-being for the Kingdom, its leadership, and its people.
Elkhereiji also met Cheikh Niang, Senegal’s minister of African integration, foreign affairs and Senegalese abroad, at the event.

All parties reviewed bilateral relations and discussed ways to enhance cooperation across various fields, as well as regional and international developments.
Elkhereiji participated in the forum in Dakar on behalf of Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan. The event boasted the theme “Africa Facing the Challenges of Stability, Integration, and Sovereignty: What Sustainable Solutions?”
Elkhereiji also met Mauritania’s President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani in Dakar on Monday. The two sides looked at aspects of Saudi-Mauritanian relations, as well as regional issues.
