RIYADH, 14 November 2003 — The Overseas Filipino Workers Bowlers of Riyadh (OFWBR), an Accredited Community Partner (ACP) of the Philippine Embassy Sports and Cultural Affairs would like to inform all the OFWs balikbayan around the globe that the 2003 Past & Present OFWs Balikbayan Get-Together Worldwide Yuletide All Filipino Bowing Tournament is set to open with a big bang on Dec. 28.
Partial proceeds of this year’s worldwide balikbayan yuletide bowlfest will be donated to the ABS-CBN Foundation Bantay-Bata 163 and to the family of OFW Jun Canar who died last Oct. 14. due to lingering illness.
Invited to grace the affair are Jesus Avecilla, owner and the CEO of GameworX, Christian Datol, GameworX Marketing Director, Ms. Divinia Yabut, GameworX general manager, Marvin Cachio, Sales Manager of the Kabayan Hotel, Emy de Guzman, General Manager, Middle East Operation, SkyFreight Forwarders, Ms. Tina Monzon Palma, Program Director, Bantay Bata 163, Antonio “Nonoy” Velo, TFC National Sales Manager, Middle East, Danny Buenafe, ABS-CBN Middle East Chief Bureau, Enrique “Boy” Fogata, former chairman of the Filipino Overseas Bowlers of Riyadh (FOBR), JR Bautista, Bowling Olympic.
Gold medalist and Ms. Emilia “Boots” Canar, the sister of the late OFW Jun Canar. The event will be covered live by Danny Buenafe, ABS-CBN TFC Middle East Chief Bureau and the Bantay-Bata 163 crew and will be aired at the Balitang Middle East and the Bantay-Bata Children’s Village segment after a week.
