DAMMAM, 31 October 2003 — A public committee assembled from various governmental sectors has shut down a Ramadan fair in Jubail. The fair consisting of 50 stalls and exhibitors organized by various international companies in the Eastern Province was unlicensed. An official at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Jubail told Eqtisadiah, a sister publication of Arab News, that most products sold at the fair were unfit for human consumption. Most of the workers were foreigners of dubious legal status, he added.
