JEDDAH, 8 January 2003 — Seven major international exhibitions will be staged at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s exhibition and convention center during the current year.
The first will be the Middle East Education & Training Exhibition and Symposium from March 25-28.
This show has been planned under the joint auspices of the Saudi Ministry of Education and King Abdul Aziz University that will showcase the current global education scenario with the participation of universities and educational establishments from all over the world, according to Al-Harithy Company for Exhibitions, the organizing company which enters its silver jubilee year.
"A series of high-profile symposiums will be held on the sidelines of this exhibition. Experts from King Faisal Specialist Hospital, King Abdul Aziz University, JCCI, General Organization for Technical Education and Vocational Training, Saudi Arabian Airlines and Institute of Public Administration will be among active participants," an ACE official told reporters yesterday.
A nine-day International Book Fair, aimed at contributing toward the Kingdom’s literacy drive, will follow from April 24 to May 2. Immediately thereafter will be the Kingdom’s International Trade Fair, with the Ministry of Commerce in the forefront. This multisectoral exhibition from May 11-15 will feature an unusual range of products from light industries to consumer goods.
Saudi Building and Interiors Exhibition & Symposium from May 25-29 is designed to meet the needs of the Kingdom’s thriving construction industry. In the context of the opening up of various sectors for foreign investment that is leading to a huge expansion especially in industrial and residential construction, the exhibition, held with the cooperation of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, will bring in an array of latest building materials.
The biennial Saudi Health Care and Saudi Hospital shows will concurrently run from Sept. 28 to Oct. 2. This professional event will cover all aspects of medical sector. Saudi Hospital show will feature non-medical hospital infrastructure, supplies and furnishings. One of the highlights of the event will be a series of symposiums addressed by internationally known experts in the field. Ministry of Health will be actively involved in this event.
Jeddah Motor Show from Dec. 7 to 12 will be a mega event "full of surprises." CommTel will follow next from Dec. 21-26. This will be another major event showcasing the latest accessories in the computer field. It will also cover e-commerce and mobile phones. "Live Arabia" will run concurrently with CommTel. This international event will have an impressive range of the most sophisticated equipment in consumer electronics, satellite broadcasting channels and anything that has to do with sound and vision.
"Companies from the United States, Europe, the Middle East and the GCC, Asia, the Central Asian Republics and the Far East will participate in all major exhibitions planned during the year," the ACE source said.
