JEDDAH, 18 September — A five-member delegation of President’s National Kashmir Committee (PNKC) left for Egypt Monday evening after a successful visit to the Kingdom. The delegation on a visit of Muslim countries to garner support for the Kashmir issue met President of Shoura Council Saleh ibn Humaid and Deputy Foreign Minister Ismail Shoura.
The delegation led by Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan, PNKC chairman, also comprised Dr. Mehmood Ghazi, Ghulam Muhammad Saffi, Syed Nazeerul Hassan Gilani and Muhammad Farooq.
Sardar Qayyum expressed gratitude to the Saudi leadership for the firm and consistent support extended to Pakistan on Kashmir issue. He said India was trying to hoodwink the international community by holding elections in the valley.
Qayyum said giving the Kashmiris the right to self-determination as per the UN Security Council resolutions was the only solution to Kashmir dispute.
Qayyum said that the boycott of elections by Kashmiris has once again proved that they would not compromise on their principled stand and would not let their sacrifices go to waste. Both the Saudi leaders expressed their support for Pakistan on Kashmir issue.
