6 major expos lined up

JEDDAH, 4 January — Six major international exhibitions will be held at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s exhibition and convention center next year. Al-Harithy Company for Exhibitions will organize the shows between April and December, a company spokesman has said. The opening event is the city’s third annual book fair scheduled from April 25 to May 3. This will be followed by the biennial Food-Arabia incorporating the hotel and packaging sectors from May 26 to 30.

The annual CommTel will be staged between Sept. 15 and 20. It encompasses computing, computer shopper, the Internet, office equipment and accessories, business communications and mobile phones. Alongside this event will be the Middle East education and training exhibition, and symposium (MEETES) — 8th event and symposium for education, training human resources, equipment, aids and services; and Live-Arabia — event for sound, vision, consumer electronics and satellite broadcasting channels.

The annual Saudi building and interiors show — 11th comprehensive showcase for the industry is set from Sept. 29 to Oct. 3.

This will be followed by the annual show on international trade and fashion fair, which is the 20th multi-sectoral trade show for light industries, consumer goods, clothing, leather goods, fashion accessories and textiles.

The prestigious annual Jeddah Motor Show is scheduled from Dec. 22 to 27. This is the 24th annual motor vehicle exhibition incorporating auto care and boat shows. Auto care is an event for automobile parts, accessories and garage equipment and the boat show is for boats and marine services.
