JEDDAH, 21 August — Raad Al-Sharif, a 11-year-old Saudi boy abducted to Yemen 10 days ago by a person named Ahmad Al-Hajouri, was expected to rejoin his family in Abu Areesh yesterday, Al-Madinah Arabic newspaper reported.
The paper said security authorities in Yemen have agreed to hand over the boy to Saudi authorities. Saudi Consul in Sanaa, Muslim Al-Salami, was scheduled to meet with Interpol officers to follow up the case.
The abductor was arrested with the boy on Aug. 8. Raad’s mother had requested the authorities to make quick arrangement for the return of her child.
Hajouri was demanding SR2,000 for releasing the boy.
