JEDDAH, 20 June — Tourists who have come to Jeddah to see Jeddah 22 will get more than they expected when they see for the first time ice skaters and circus performers. Invited by Jeddah 22 to add more color and life to the festival, they will combine with an Arabic musical spectacular to complete the celebration.
Adel Matouk, Jawad Al Ali and Abdul Aziz Mansoor, all talented young singers will perform live at a concert at the Al-Amassi Ballroom tomorrow night, under the patronage of the Jeddah Music Festival Committee. Doors will open at 9.30 p.m. and the show starts at 10 p.m.
Presenting the singers was LG Electronics whose new Jeddah-based General Manager H.K. Seo said: “The music festival marks the launch of global digital leader LG Electronics into a new marketing era by targeting Saudi youth. We have held popular music events in Morocco and Dubai and sponsored Cheb Mami’s tour of Tunisia last year,” said Seo.
“Bolshoi on Ice”, a two-hour family show featuring ice skaters and circus performers, will be a delight for families and visitors of the city. Acrobats and ice skaters will be thrilling the crowd with their daredevil acts on a 250 square meter ice rink at Al Andalus Street, opposite Azizia Panda supermarket starting from tonight until July 13. Organized by Moumena Entertainment, the show’s will begin at 9 p.m. on Sundays and Mondays and at 7.30 p.m. and 10.30 p.m. from Tuesdays through Fridays. Muhammad A. Moumena, executive vice president of Moumena Investment Group, said 24 Russian and other European acrobats will perform for the audience, which could reach 3,000.
