RIYADH: King Salman patronized the annual Grand Horse Race of the Founder’s Cup at the King Abdul Aziz Racetrack in Janadriyah on Saturday, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The king, who is honorary president of the Kingdom’s Equestrian Club, watched displays from different countries. He also awarded prizes at the ceremony, which was attended by a number of princes and officials.
Earlier Prince Bandar bin Khalid Al-Faisal, chairman of the club’s board of directors, said that the support, encouragement and care of Saudi Arabia’s leadership indicated the interest in the future of equestrianism, based on its place and value in society.
