Meteorology office expects rain, thunderstorms across Saudi Arabia

RIYADH: The Saudi General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection expects rain and thunderstorms to hit several regions across the Kingdom during the next few days.
The authority has issued a statement on Sunday warning in advance of moderate to heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms and dust storms, which may lead to torrential flows.
It said several areas will be affected. In Makkah, the cities of Taif, Mysan, Beni Saad, and several areas in the region the weather will remain as such until 10 p.m. local time.
It also forecasted that rainy thunderstorms will hit Al Baha region accompanied with dusty winds. This will include Al-Baha region and nearby areas such as the cities of Biljurashi and Al-Mekhwa. The rainy weather will continue until 9pm local time.
Moderate to heavy rain thunderstorms are also expected over Asir region until 10 p.m. local time. The warning included cities in the region, such as Abha.
The authority urged residents of these areas to avoid getting themselves into valleys and rainwater ponds.
