Thousands of Omanis are heading to traditional grounds this week to watch bullfighting tournaments, Times of Oman reported.
The popular tradition can draw crowds of over 2,000, the report said. Organizers of bullfights say that tournaments take place in many areas across Oman including Sohar, Al-Mussanah and Suwaiq.
The bulls originally come from Salalah and other more agriculture-friendly areas, but these days, there are bull markets in Sohar, Barka in Oman and Fujairah and Dubai in the UAE the report said, where owners purchase these fighters.
