Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia hail faster passport service

RIYADH: The Pakistani community in Riyadh has welcomed their government’s decision to open the one-window executive passport office that will allow people to avoid long queues at the passport office.
The new office was inaugurated in Islamabad by Chaudhry Nisar, Pakistani interior minister, recently.
Ghaffar Khan, a Pakistani media professional, said: “It is indeed a very good decision by the government to help people, especially those willing to go abroad.” He added: “You no longer have to wait for a long queue in order to get your passport, at least in Islamabad as of now.”
Similar passport offices and mega NADRA (National Database & Registration Authority) centers will be opened across Pakistan in the coming months, he said.
Fareed Haqqani, a Pakistani IT professional, said it is good to help people get a faster service from the executive passport office.
Waqar Hussain, a telecom worker, said the applicant will have to pay extra for it and that the office promises a speedy delivery of the passport by hand or by courier.
