JEDDAH: The girls section of Mahd Al-Uloom International School (MIS) held its investiture ceremony for the academic session 2016-2017 at the school auditorium.
The ceremony was initiated with the recitation of few verses from the Holy Qur’an. The motivational song, “We shall overcome…,” was sung by the student council members. The school was made aware of the election process that took place on April 14, familiarizing them on how democracy works in the whole world.
Principal Salma Shaik, who presided over the event, said: “The investiture ceremony denotes investment in being leaders and the trust and confidence we repose in newly invested office-bearers for the involvement of the student community in day-to-day functioning of the school since we believe in child-centric approach.”
Shaik reminded the new office-bearers to diligently shoulder responsibilities that lay ahead with dedication and devotion. She mentioned that the students of today will become leaders of tomorrow in different walks of life.
The school’s newly elected student council members participated in the oath-taking ceremony committing them to be true to their posts and duties assigned to them.
Head Girl Marwa Abdul Razack shared her thoughts on assuming responsibility. The members of MIS management congratulated the newly elected team and encouraged them to perform their duties with trust and commitment.
They insisted that it is such events and occasions that give birth to leaders and go a long way in creating world leaders.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks and the rendition of the national anthems of Saudi Arabia and India.
