Mobily signs up Huawei for managed network services

Etihad Etisalat Mobily has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Huawei for provision of managed network services in the next five years.
The memorandum was signed on the sidelines of Mobile World Congress 2016, in Barcelona, Spain by Ahmed Farroukh, CEO Mobily, and Ramadan Ding, CEO Huawei Tech. Investment Saudi Arabia Co. Ltd.
Under the contract, Huawei will be providing managed network services to Mobily network. Huawei will manage Mobily’s network, including radio access, core, optical transmission, VAS, IPTV and MPLS network.
The managed service portfolio for the above components include day-to-day operations and management, corrective and preventive field maintenance, system optimization, change management, and installation and upgrades among other deliverable.
Mobily aims to exploit synergies developed by awarding this contract to ensure increased efficiencies within its network.
Ahmed Farroukh, CEO Mobily, said: “Over the past few years, Huawei has proven to be a trusted partner and service provider for us. With initiatives such as managed services agreement, expansion of sale and support network, launch of innovative services and many other initiatives, Mobily aims to be able to cater to the quality, performance and service needs of the customers better than before.
