JEDDAH: A famous private medical center in west Jeddah has received dozens of swine flu cases over the past two days despite the launch of the seasonal vaccination campaign at hospitals and health centers in the province two weeks ago.
Patients are being provided treatment at a specialized floor in the center, while all medical personnel and administration staff have been asked to take the vaccination.
The Ministry of Health is currently running a campaign to provide seasonal vaccinations at 88 health centers and hospitals across the province, according to Abdullah bin Ali Al-Ghamdi, spokesperson of the Health Affairs Directorate in Jeddah.
He has urged citizens and residents not to worry about the seasonal influenza virus as it does not pose any major threat.
During the past two days, two patients who had contracted swine flu died in Jazan, while other patients in Najran, Jazan, Jeddah, and Riyadh are being treated.
