SEDCO hosts Second Financial Dignity Summit at KAU

In celebration of Global Money Week (GMW) and for the second year in a row, SEDCO Holding Group is organizing the Second Financial Dignity Summit under the theme — Money and business — on March 17, at King Fahd Library in King Abdulaziz University (KAU). The summit is in alignment with Riyali Financial Literacy program and will encompass several activities around financial dignity to raise awareness about saving and budgeting.
The week-long summit has already simultaneously begun on March 10, during GMW. The latter is an annual international money awareness celebration. GMW engages children worldwide in learning how money works, including saving, creating livelihoods, gaining employment and entrepreneurship, and it is run by the Child & Youth Finance International.
The summit agenda includes inspirational presentations by local successful entrepreneurs, including Fouad Merdad, assistant to Executive Director of KAU Research Endowment Fund Soraka Al-Khatib who will give a presentation on his “7 tips to success” to young entrepreneurs while Mohamed Suwaileh will present his “9 out of 10 business secrets.”
During the summit, 5 shortlisted candidates for the Riyali Young Entrepreneurs’ award — selected by the judging committee — will be presenting their projects for a chance to win a substantial financial prize at the SEDCO Holding Group Annual 2015 Multaqa (meeting).
The summit sessions also include an introduction to the new Riyali online platform, which will help make the program widely available for students.
Said Amr Banaja, director of Riyali Financial Literacy Program, said: “In its second year, the summit aims to enrich youth with the values and economic understandings of financial dignity and we are looking forward to showcase the Riyali e-platform, which will give access to many Saudi youth and students.”
SEDCO Holding also organized the "Little Merchants" in-mall activities for two days, which ended on Monday at Red Sea Mall.
