Saudi Post delivers passports to homes

The Saudi Post in the Eastern Province (EP) recently launched door-to-door delivery of personal documents, including residency permits, passports and other travel documents to citizens and residents who have registered in the National Address service.
Musfer bin Muhammad Al-Zmanan, general manager of the Saudi Post in the EP, said: “The service was unveiled in the presence of Maj. Gen. Dhaifallah Al-Huwaifi, director of the Passport Department in the EP. A number of residency permits were delivered to those registered in the National Address service to mark the launch of the service.”
The moves comes in line with the implementation of an agreement between the minister of interior and the Saudi Postal Corporation to deliver documents issued by the General Directorate of Passports to subscribers. He noted that the Saudi Post is a link connecting the General Directorate of Passports, which is the service provider, to citizens and residents — the beneficiaries. “The new system is part of the e-government plan, which aims to facilitate the transfer of government services electronically to citizens and residents in an expeditious manner,” he added.
